Les dispositifs de radiothérapie jouent un rôle important dans le traitement du cancer et dans d'autres applications médicales nécessitant une délivrance précise des rayonnements. La Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) classe ces dispositifs en vertu des Medical Device Rules 2017 in India en fonction de leur utilisation prévue, des risques associés et des exigences réglementaires. Cette classification garantit que les dispositifs de radiothérapie respectent des normes strictes de sécurité et de performance afin de protéger la santé des patients. Le 6 janvier 2025, la CDSCO indienne a publié un projet d'annexe sous la notification MED-16014(12)/1/2022-eOffice, apportant les changements suivants à la classification existante

  • 26 nouveaux dispositifs ont été ajoutés à l'ancienne liste.

  • 8 dispositifs ont été reclassés de la classe A à la classe A (non stérile et non mesurant)

  • 4 dispositifs ont légèrement changé de nom par rapport à la classification précédente.

  • 5 dispositifs n'ont pas été inclus dans la nouvelle classification.
