CDSCO is involved in the registration of medical devices, drugs and cosmetics in India. The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is planning to extend across multiple cities. IPC will start its regional arm in the zonal and sub zonal regional offices of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Hyderabad are chosen as potential places to start with. Dr G N Singh, drug controller general of India (DCGI) informed IPC has already started setting up in Mumbai. Hopefully, IPC might start operations by the end of the year in Mumbai followed by Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.

CDSCO which is involved in registration of medical devices, drugs, cosmetics in India is actively working on different measures. “This will strengthen our commitment of setting standard body and support CDSCO on medicine regulation efficiently. To ensure best healthcare practices, steps are taken to expose PvPI programme and create an overall impact. It will also reduce the duplication of work and ensure we are same lines  for drug safety issues in the country” Dr G N Singh added.  Some strategic moves are also taken to increase the number of adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring centres (AMC) from 150 to 200 before this year.
