This Article deals with the Prescription for some Medical Device advertisements that don’t need medical device approval which is published by the Thailand Government. There are numerous regulations for medical device advertising that are intended to allow business owners to promote medical items through any channel without specifying features. advantages, standards, and effectiveness of medical technology, or as a benefit for media consumers Customers are unaffected in any way by the use of that medical device, which is required. 

Medical Device B.E. 2551 (2008) is a set of regulations governing the registration, import, manufacture, sale, and advertising of medical devices in Thailand. It was amended in 2019 to align with international standards. 

By way of recommendation from the Committee on Medical Devices, the Minister of Public Health now announces the following :

  • Clause 1 – A medical equipment promoted through any media that does not detail its characteristics, advantages, quality, standards, components, or point of origin in order to influence the audience
  • There is a requirement to use that medical device in order to be exempt from asking authorization to advertise.

The following medical equipment advertisements are excluded from the requirements of paragraph one regarding the necessity for advertising permission :

  • Clause 2 –  Medical equipment that is excluded from requesting clearance in accordance with this notification. The medical devices must meet the requirements.
  • Clause 3 –  In addition to this announcement, advertising It must follow Chapter 7’s advertising guidelines.
  • Clause 4 –  This declaration will be effective as of the day it is published in the Government Gazette.
