This article released on 30th September 2022 talks about the importation of Class A and B Medical Devices according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) on February 11, 2020.

It has been released that if an existing importer or manufacturer who is already importing/manufacturing Class A and Class B Medical Devices has submitted an application to the CDSCO on or before 30th September 2022, as a case may be granted the import or manufacturing license in respect of the said devices. The importer/manufacturer can continue to import /manufacture the said device(s) up to 6 months from the date of issue of this order or till the time the Central Licensing Authority or State Licensing Authority takes a decision on the said application, whichever is earlier.
