Next, you’ll need to specify the type of business you’re operating. For nutraceuticals, you may select:

• Manufacturing/Processing: If you’re involved in the production or processing of nutraceuticals.
  
  
• Importing: If you’re importing these products into India for sale.
  
  
• Other Categories: You can select multiple categories, so be sure to tick the ones that apply to your business model.

3. Qualified Technical Person

FSSAI regulations require a qualified person to oversee food safety operations at your business. You’ll need to provide details about the technical person responsible for managing food safety protocols:

• Name, Qualification, and Contact Details: List the qualifications of the person responsible for ensuring compliance with FSSAI guidelines.
  
  
• Photo ID: Ensure you provide a valid photo ID for this person to verify their identity.

4. Premises and Infrastructure Details

Filling out the premises and infrastructure details is a crucial section:

• Layout Plan: Submit a blueprint or layout plan of the manufacturing unit, showing key areas like storage, manufacturing zones, and hygiene facilities.
  
  
• Manufacturing Capacity: Specify your production capacity, i.e., the amount of nutraceutical products manufactured per day or per annum. Be sure to provide accurate figures to avoid any discrepancies.

5. Food Safety Compliance

This section is dedicated to ensuring that your premises meet the required food safety and hygiene standards. Here’s what you need to verify:

• Sanitary Practices: Confirm that your premises comply with the hygiene and safety standards outlined in Schedule 4 of the FSSAI guidelines. This includes regular cleaning, pest control, and ensuring that all machinery is properly sanitized.
  
  
• Inspection Compliance: If needed, FSSAI may inspect your premises to ensure compliance with these standards.

6. Documentation

Along with the completed Form B, several documents need to be submitted:

• Blueprint of the Premise: Provide a layout of the premises where the nutraceutical products are being produced.
  
  
• Food Safety Management System (FSMS) Plan: If applicable, provide a certificate or plan showing that your business follows FSMS guidelines for food safety.
  
  
• Proof of Premises: This could include documents like sale deeds or rental agreements to prove that you have the right to use the premises for business operations.

7. Product Information

Here, you will provide detailed information about the nutraceutical products you plan to manufacture or import:

• Product Names: Clearly list the types of nutraceutical products, their ingredients, and quantities.
  
  
• Testing Reports: Nutraceuticals must pass rigorous quality control tests. Submit chemical, microbiological, and pesticide residue reports from accredited laboratories to confirm the safety of your products.

8. Payment of Fees

The application fee depends on the type and scale of your business. Generally, the fees for licenses range between ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 for manufacturers, and a larger fee is applicable for businesses with a higher production capacity. You can pay the fee through a demand draft or an online transfer, as specified by FSSAI

9. Food Safety Management System (FSMS)

FSSAI encourages all food business operators to adopt an FSMS for ensuring food safety at every step, from manufacturing to distribution. If you already have certifications like ISO 22000 or HACCP, provide these details to streamline the process.
