Dr A Ramkishan – Deputy Drugs Controller of Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) said that Indian pharmacy regulatory body is undergoing tremendous change in emphasizing quality. Speaking at APTICON 2016, the 21st National Convention of the Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India said that transparency with accountability is the top importance except affordability with respect to the medicine.
He said the Indian regulatory body is going towards different direction, mainly online system in almost all its transactions. This system includes applications and licenses are accepted and offered online. The new start is expected to bring in many changes. The regulatory body has a different vision and mission supporting lots of changes. India currently offers medicines to 230 countries and pharmacy is the 2nd largest sector only after IT.
Dr C K Kokate (vice chancellor of KLE University) said pharmacy education has been experiencing fast metamorphosis in the last ten years. It has been growing beyond imagination. The need of the hour is to maintain the quality as quality makes the actuality of the education. He also said, Teachers are the elicitor of educational synthesis who should be good human beings and role models. They should create people who determine to offer good quality health care.
